The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) is the export promotion arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

CITEM is committed to developing, nurturing, and promoting globally-competitive small and medium enterprises (SMEs), exporters, designers, and manufacturers by implementing an integrated approach to export marketing in partnership with other government and private entities.

For three decades, CITEM has established the country’s image as the premier destination for quality export products and services. It continues to set the highest standards of creativity, excellence and innovation to achieve export competitiveness in the international market.

The Philippine Trade and Investment Centers (PTIC) in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Shanghai are part of the Trade and Investment Promotions Group under the supervision of the Foreign Trade Service Corps (FTSC) of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)

The Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) is mandated to oversee the development, promotion, and monitoring of Philippine exports. The DTI-EMB provides the exporters the enabling environment to make them globally competitive.

Pursuant to the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022, the agency shall endeavor to reduce inequality and poverty by expanding economic opportunities in exports, and by increasing the access particularly of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs); cooperatives; and overseas Filipinos (OFs) to these opportunities.

Companies interested in importing from the Philippines can access Tradeline Philippines, the business intelligence platform of the DTI-EMB.

DTI’s Foreign Trade Service Corps (FTSC) advances the Philippine government’s economic agenda by promoting the entry of Philippine exports to the world market and attracting foreign investments to the Philippines. With offices in 30 cities in 22 countries across the globe and supported by a capital-based Coordinating Office, the FTSC is uniquely positioned to pursue the DTI’s trade and investment priorities through activities such as trade and investment promotion, commercial intelligence, and trade negotiations through its extensive global contacts and networks in governments, international organizations, Filipino communities, and private sector. Even during emergency situations and crises, FTSC has proven to be an essential link between Philippine government agencies and industries, and their global counterparts.

The Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) is the primary government agency that promotes agricultural development by providing framework, public investments, and support services needed for domestic and export-oriented business enterprises. Its primary mandate is to ensure food security through the collective empowerment of farmers/fisher folk as well as the private sector to increase agricultural productivity and profitability, taking into account sustainability and resilience.

The Office of the Agriculture Counsellor in Beijing is one of the eight offices under the DA’s Foreign Agricultural Service Corps. It handles agriculture and agricultural trade matters/issues with the People’s Republic of China, including Hong Kong & Macau. Its primary function is to promote trade/export of Philippine agricultural products to China, including market facilitation as well as agribusiness investments.

The Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) oversees the implementation of the responsibilities of the DFA relating to trade and investment, science and technology, environment and sustainable development, official development cooperation, and other related economic/social concerns, in cooperation with all Philippine government agencies concerned and the private sector.

A Vision for Exports, A Vision for the Country

The Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. or PHILEXPORT is the country’s umbrella organization of exporters which is mandated, under the Export Development Act of 1994, to strengthen the country’s export industry through its export promotion and development programs.

PHILEXPORT is a non-stock, non-profit service organization with a membership of over 4,000 mostly micro, small and medium enterprises nationwide.  They are grouped under 20 regional and provincial chapters and 51 affiliated industry associations that have affiliated themselves with PHILEXPORT.

In fulfilling its mandate, PHILEXPORT implements a number of institutional and special projects, programs and services, including: Policy Advocacy, Bonded Warehousing Operations, One-Stop Export Documentation, Facilitation and Advisory, Project Development and Monitoring and Information Collection and Dissemination.

There are eight Cabinet-level government representatives in the Board headed by the Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary as Chairman Extraordinaire and the Secretaries of the Departments Agriculture, Finance, Environment and Natural Resources, Information and Communications Technology, Transportation and Communication, Board of Investments and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Meanwhile, the private sector Board members are represented by 18 Trustees elected per sector every two years.

Since 1954, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) has been a strong partner of government in nation-building and development. It has channeled its efforts to unite the Chinese-Filipino community, promote the growth of business, and implement social welfare projects to bring forth progress for the whole country. The Federation’s more than 170 member organizations across the Philippines play vital roles in their respective sectors and communities. Its membership is actively engaged in trading, manufacturing, service industry, and other economic activities that help fuel the country’s engine of progress.

“By devoting your resources to the improvement of our society, the Federation has consistently played a vital role in ushering a period of greater cooperation and understanding not only in the promotion of business and trade, but also in facing various challenges that we face as a nation.”– President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (32nd Biennial Convention of FFCCCII, 21 March 2019, SMX Convention Center Pasay City)
